    Hey yolk fam. Been a minute, hasn’t it?

    I’ve decided to ease my way back into regular blogging, because, if you haven’t noticed, I’ve been taking a little break lately. And by lately, I mean most of the past year. But shhh, no one has to know.

    In late August of last year, I moved to the UK. First I took a month long publishing course at Oxford, and then I went to London for a master’s program.

    I cannot fit all the details of this year of my life on one page of the internet, so this post will be all about Oxford and how I explored its history. Which for me mostly involved eating at some really old cafes and drinking at some really ancient pubs.

  • Banyan Bar + Refuge

    This has been a post long in the making – we’ve been talking about going to Banyan in the South End since it first opened last July. Banyan Bar + Refuge replaces the iconic Hamersley’s Bistro on Tremont Street and brings with it an Asian fusion and flair. Banyan’s executive chef Phil Tang definitely has a fun way of pairing classic Asian ingredients with Western foods, and we’re thrilled to tell you all about our wonderful experience.

    The space is handsomely decorated with wooden chandeliers that instantly take you away from the city, with beautiful signature green leather chairs to add a bit of color and sophistication to this already stylish space. (more…)

    On our recent trip to Portland, Maine to visit old friends, we encountered a whole new meaning to the term “life is good”. With its slow, laid back vibe and friendly locals, we were welcomed with open arms by the slew of restaurants and bars we were lucky enough to visit.

    Our lovely friend Alison brought us to Eventide, one of three restaurants on Middle Street all owned by the powerhouse team of Andrew Taylor, Arlin Smith, and Mike Wiley. It set the tone for our visit with its simple, fresh, quality ingredients and welcoming yet trendy atmosphere. (more…)
