I am officially in hoodie and thick sweatpants mode and I love it. It’s like being wrapped by a thick reliable pillow 24/7. Good lounge wear is like the understanding boyfriend I never had. My gray hoodie and pajama bottoms are simultaneously my Netflix and cooking uniform. When in doubt, wear neutral colors.

With my cooking uniform on, it finally feels cool enough that standing next to a pan of hot oil before frying up something crispy actually sounds appealing. Besides, my thick gray uniform keeps the sizzling oil away from my skin. Netflix/food uniform/PJs/cooking armor – check it. (more…)

    Curry Potato Leek Soup Final

Happy Happy New Year! First of all, I hope you all had a wonderful time welcoming 2016 – I did it the old fashioned way by enjoying a bittersweet dinner at West Bridge’s last service and seeing Star Wars and being in bed before midnight rang out. Crazy stuff.

It was not a pretty scene.

    Crispy Potatoes Ingredients

Now that my very hectic shopping season is over, I can finally focus on the Christmas meal. What do people have on Christmas anyway? I’m never quite sure. People tell me it’s ham but I still want turkey but my squad informs me that’s so last month. (more…)

  • Roasted Asparagus Salad with Dijon Dressing

    Asparagus Salad

I think it’s been a while since I’ve posted a salad recipe since I worry that it might be too simple and no one would be interested. Then I thought, ‘Why not? It’s summer and that’s what everyone is eating!’ Tell me I’m right. Either way, this salad is delicious and should not be ignored. Roasted asparagus, golden potatoes, perfectly cooked eggs, and a delightful Dijon dressing. Do I have your attention yet?

    Dressed

As with most fresh summer ingredients, I like to keep things simple and let the vegetables do all the work. My only job is to draw out the flavors and add a bit of heat. The less time I spend on prepping, the more time I have to eat and enjoy the outdoors. (more…)
